Liked this book very much - as did the Pulitzer Prize judges in 2006. Found the tie-back to the classic Little Women clever, despite the use of artistic license with the characters.
while the language in the first little bit of the book struck a chord with me, the characters didn't pull me in as the work progressed. the themes never resonated with me as i hoped. it wasn't a terrible book by any stretch but just not a big hit for me.
